Welcome Message

Welcome Message

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the XVII International Nidovirus Symposium (“Nido 2026”). Hosted for the first time in Asia by The University of Hong Kong, the symposium will take place from 24-27 June 2026.

Over the past 40 years, the Nidovirus Symposium has evolved into an event that covers all aspects of nidoviruses detected in a wide range of animals and humans. This group of viruses includes significant pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2, zoonotic SARS- and MERS-coronaviruses, common cold viruses, and various economically important livestock viruses.

This meeting offers an excellent opportunity for researchers from around the world to share their latest discoveries, fostering meaningful face-to-face exchanges of ideas. In this vibrant city where history and progress converge, our mission is clear: to transform academic dialogue into a catalyst for groundbreaking scientific innovation. It is at this intersection that new ideas are born and translated into real-world impact. We encourage you to take full advantage of this unique opportunity to learn, share, and inspire one another.

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are delighted to welcome you to Hong Kong. Thank you for your commitment to advancing our understanding of nidoviruses. Let us make this symposium a memorable and impactful experience.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Warm regards,

Leo L. M. Poon & Kei Sato
